I'm going to the Midwest Gaming Classic in March, and from what I've seen, there's quite a selection of classic arcade games. However, I am flying up there, and if I get a full-sized arcade, I would have to go the shipping route.

What would be the best way to send an arcade/pinball machine this distance?

I think I would contact the organizers to see if they will have any shippers there. Otherwise, I just don't see how it would work as you would probably be required to have the machine out of the hotel on Sunday evening. Unless the organizers have shippers there, I don't see how you could arrange to have something picked up on a Sunday.

I've given this some thought as I might be going to the show and would maybe take Amtrak or a cheap flight.

Check out North American Vanlines. They have a full fleet that does nothing but ship games. Usually cost 400-450 to ship something. It would take some coordination but its just an option.

How exactly would you prepare a game for shipment? Probably a stupid question, but you couldn't have it put in cargo on the flight, right?

Do they respond that quickly, i.e sending them a the dimensions and address on Saturday and possibly picking it up the same day? I might try to find someone with a truck heading back down to STL.
