I've been thinking about starting this for a while now, and figure I've gotten to know [hopefully] enough people around the area.

Milwaukee area collectors, lets get a gathering/group going. I'm thinking we can meet up monthly for some gaming, general social meetup, help on repairs, drinks, etc... We can switch off hosting to different people's places, who are comfortable hosting. We don't always need to host at someone's house, but maybe at Dave and Busters for some food/drinks/games (just throwing it out there as something different). If this actually takes off pretty well, and people seem into it; I'll throw together a website so it'll be easier to check future dates/meeting locations/whatever else. I'll just have to think of a good domain name (throw out some options!).

I'm also putting together a google maps of everyone's location and games, so it'll be easily accessible when switching locations. If you'd like to be put on, just shoot me a pm on here with your address and list of games (not parts/kits, full games either working or not). I'll add you to the list and reply back with the url for the map. It's an unlisted map, so you don't have to worry about other people finding it randomly. Also, feel free to include any skills you might have; such as monitor repair, board repair, or whatever. This will help make it a little easier, hopefully, to get and keep our games running.

I think that would be cool but not at a person's home, unless they want to host. I think a place like Dave and Busters or something like that would be cool. I do think a list of local collectors with haves and wants, maybe skill sets would be cool as well. I also think maybe trying to setup a local swap meet would be cool.

I'm open to whatever. I've had people over to my place already, and Andy (magog) usually hosts little get togethers every now and then in the back of his Domino's. Dan (silvercoin) has also throw some get togethers, so a few of us are already doing it. If you don't want to host, that's prefectly fine. I'm cool with going to D&B's as well, whatever works for people.

I can throw together whatever you want on the google maps. They allow of html editing, so I can just create a basic structure quick to house whatever content you want on there. Just send it my way, and a location; at least a city; to place it on the map. If you don't want your specific address, just let me know your in Tosa, Waukesha, whatever....just so I have somewhere to place the marker.

I live up in the dells (60 miles north of Madison) but would like to be considered to join.

Operated for 16 years with lots of knowledge and parts available.

My sister lives in west allis so I could come down every once and a while.

I am also a collector

As you know, the 'Kade is open for gatherings. It is pretty much at maximum capacity at 30+ games. Put the metropolis of Jackson on the list.

Hate to say the F word, but you could also do something on Facebook.
HA! Yeah, I was thinking that as well, but don't think everyone is on it or I'm friends with everyone. Not a bad idea, though.

I have so far added people to the map, which I can either post here (if people don't care) or just continue to send out the link. I don't want someone to get upset, for whatever reason, if I post the map in a public spot (again, it is private).

Also, I'll throw a tentative date for the first meet-up as Saturday March 3rd. Let me know if this works for you. If someone wants to volunteer to host, cool; otherwise, I'm thinking we can shoot for D&B's for now for food/drinks/games. Got other ideas, just shoot them out.

I'd be interested in getting involved in something like this. I'm fairly new to hobby so it would be nice to meet some others in the hobby and learn whatever I can. I'd be down for hosting a get together at my house at some point as long as you guys don't mind a drive. I live in Belgium, which is about 40 minutes north of Milwaukee.

Jason, you have my info, right? It's cool, you can add me to the map, though I'm probably not able to host.

Hit me up with the link to the map whenever

And if someone starts a SE WI Arcade collector group on FB, I'd join.

I'm way too far away to be part of the group, but I'm willing to drive down just to hang out every three months or so.

J, don't know if you heard, but I have the Pump working :dance3:

Yeah, I have your info Adam, I'll throw it on the map. If you want a list of your games on the map, just pm or email me that info; or whatever else you do (or don't) want on.

Facebook group has also been created:

Awesome, glad you got that working. I've started taking apart HipHopMania now that it's been a little warmer. So far so good, mainly just needs a really good cleaning. DDR will be a summer project, since my second minimaid is on the way.

Also, if you want me to list you on the map or where ever, that's fine; just let me know. It's not like this is ONLY Milwaukee area people, I just wanted to start a log of all the people, games and skills in the area; so it'd be easier to find others and get help restoring everything. And to play games as well, because that's the point of owning this machines (at least to me).

Bumping this. Just signed up on Facebook.

How about a get together at Midwest Gaming Classic in Brookfield? It's the last weekend in March.

I'll be at MGC. Heck, I'd love to join a collector group, but Milwaukee is far enough away that I don't consider it "local." I'd be down for a meet-up, though.

I am planing on haveing an arcade party at my house this summer(june or july), I am looking to clear out alot of parts and monitors cheap. I need my space back.

I am in, as well. I may be interested in helping clear out some of your excess inventory, depending on what you have.
