Just picked up a Millipede. Upon powering up, I get the LED on the PCB and both LED cone buttons are solid lit. Tube is hot and glows. Thats it. No sound, no picture. Bad ARII???

Any Milli-experts have suggestions?

Check voltages coming into the board from the ARII and that'll tell you if the ARII is OK or not.

That's basically the same problem I have with my Millipede. All my voltages are correct, so I just gave up.

you need a logic probe and see if the cpu chips are getting a clock signal and if they are starting. If the cpu is starting then you need to probe other chips to see if code is being processed.

I know nothing about logic probes, but both the PCBs were known to be working. So if they are the problem, then the same issue developed with both at the same time.

What exactly were the voltages and where did you measure them?

I can't remember, but here are some numbers from two different ARII PCBs I posted in a different thread.

ARII PCB #1 = +5VDC & 1.3mVAC
@Game PCB = +4.87VDC & 1.1mVAC
---------------------------------
ARII PCB = -8.50VDC & 1.1mVAC
For +12V and -5V I get +11.76V and -5.20V, respectively.

ARII PCB #2 = +5VDC & 1.4mVAC
@Game PCB = +4.89VDC & 1.4mVAC
---------------------------------
ARII PCB = -5.20VDC & 1.4mVAC
For +12V and -5V I get +11.97V and -8.61V, respectively.

********************************************************************

ARII PCB #1:
At C31 I got 10.3(AC) & -24.8(DC)
At -5V I got 1.5(AC) & -5.2(DC)

ARII PCB #2:
At C31 I got 8.3(AC) & -24.8(DC)
At -5V I got 3.1(AC) & .002(DC)*

*That probably would have reached zero, but I heard a pop accompanied by smoke when the 7815 blew on the game board, which is right next to the cap that previously exploded and the red light on the game board stopped working.(See pic).
(But the light started working again the next day). ?!?

Thanks.
