Hello! Looking for help with the Millipede we just picked up - the volume is crazy loud, unplayable loud. The panel above the coin box that houses the volume and service menu controls isn't getting power...yet everything appears to be solidly connected. There is a 2 prong connector that goes to nowhere, but it seemingly has no counterpart. I'm totally ignorant and just starting to learn my way around - anyone know a) where I should start in diagnosing the issue and b) is there an element to the board or otherwise that manually can control volume in the meantime (I'm itching to play!)

Thanks for your help!

Hey guys -

I just recently got a millipede and it quickly became my favorite game. I would suggest a rebuild/recap of the ARII board. Get the kit from Bob Roberts and that may very well fix the problem altogether. You could also have a short in your volume pot, but I would do the ARII recap/rebuild first as that can cause all kinds of other issues if it is not 100%. It is a super easy rebuild!

I have the same problem with my Millipede. The volume control worked OK when I first got it (you could turn it down to silence). But now the volume only ranges between loud and extremely loud.

So far I have rebuilt the ARII board (just the caps, I'm sure the amps are fine), replaced broken pins in the wiring harness connector (that go to the service panel), tested and cleaned the volume pot itself. One of my friends suggests the volume pot could have a broken ground connection somewhere, which sounds most likely, but I haven't found it yet.
