Millipede repair

Pointing out you have no idea what you're talking about is helpful for everyone else.
I hate to be the one to break it to The GOAT, but I'd bet my ill-informed attempts at helping people here, as I've continued to read, learn and offer what I've picked up, have been more helpful and appreciated than your repeated condescending comments here to anyone you deem to know less than you do.

Your comments are seldom helpful to the majority of the membership but instead simply show that you are trying to pat yourself on the back, again, while trying to learn how to give yourself a reacharound at the same time while thinking about the good old days 20 years ago.

I'll have my new line of shirts and hats available with THE GOAT logo available soon, I'll be sure to send you a shirt at no charge, but unfortunately I wont be able to send you a hat as they only come in size XXXL and smaller so your inflated ego just won't have room it deserves.

All hail, THE GOAT.

Perhaps by those who clearly don't know enough to see you're almost always wrong....

Listen more.
Talk less.

That'll get that Millipede working! Good job!
I am not sure what you are trying to do. Are you trying to insult me?

I am clearly addressing your shitty behavior and not the Millipede repair.

But since you are apparently really dumb at human stuff, It would help if you just provided your knowledge without being an asshole.

You should try it sometime. You know a lot about PCB repair. But nothing about how to be a decent person.

Back to this board. As I had mentioned earlier, one of the ROMS was bad. I don't have a programmer that will burn 2532s. I saw that Brian was selling a 27xx to 2732 adapter, as well as a 2732 to 2532 adapter board, but that wasn't what I needed. So I learned a little bit of KiCAD and designed my own variant, which is an SMD version 28C64 to 2532 TH adapter. The boards arrived from JLCPCB today, so I soldered one up and it works like a charm! I did have to buy the proper programming adapter to use the EEPROM in my SuperPro 601, but that it was only $17 on eBay.

Found an error in my design... even though it was working, the game would randomly reset. After looking at similar designs and reading datasheets, I realized I needed to keep the /WE line on the 28C64 EEPROM held high. So, I bridged the two pins circled below together and that fixed it right up.

I'm thinking one (or maybe both, who knows) of the POKEYs might be starting to fail. Sometimes, on power on, during the level select screen, it doesn't play the the beep tones that are emitted when moving the track ball, and upon starting, the shooting sound is absent. Other sounds seem to be there. If I play a game then power cycle the machine, those two sounds will return. Is this a problem with one or both POKEYS for these two aforementioned sounds? If one, which one? I know I can pull the pokeys and swap them to see what changes, but, the board is the garage inside the cabinet right now and I won't be able to mess with it for a few days.
