I got a Millipede from a guy that said it used to work perfectly before he moved it. When I got it the screen had vertical lines and looked like it had no sync.

I guess the wires to the monitor had been severed some way, because a bunch were soldered together and one wire at the top of this pic is completely loose.

If I unplug the 2 pin molex in the center of this pic after turning the game off, the monitor comes up black, no picture at all.
Then I re-plug that 2 pin molex back together and turn the game back on, the picture comes up fine. If the monitor is still warm after turning the game off, the picture will come up without messing with that molex plug. If the monitor goes cold, I have to go through that whole procedure to get a picture again.
I know very little about monitors and I do not know what model/make this is but here's another pic..

Thanks in advance for any help.

It's a WG k-4600. they are a little tempermental and the removable cards on the main board can get brittle from heat from my experience.

Not the original monitor though...but

The Millipede comes with a way to change the sync wires to accomodate different monitors though (the purple wires)

More likely the monitor has issues from age. One of the techs can help you better, but there is a lot information on this forum about repairing monitors.. Have fun!

As stated, you have a 4600. They are notorious for cold solder joints at the header pins. Go with these steps, trying them 1 at a time and testing in between steps.
  1. Reflow the solder on the header pins of the daughter card that the molex connector and idc connector hook up to.
  2. Adjust the H. Hold (bottom pot on the other daughter card)
  3. Adjust L351 (Silver square box on the same daughter card that the H Hold pot is on)

i have a centipede game with the same problem, only now nothing comes on and it makes a noise when i push the player 1 buttom...is that caused from the same problem??
thanx for the help

not trying to jack you thread!!!

Looking at your picture the solder looks good but almost everything looks good in a picture.
check your solder joints on the chassis and daughter board and if you see no crack solder joints, just try adjusting the h.hold and silver rectangled inductor. you might have to tweak both to square up the picture.
Use a plastic adjustment tool to adjust inductor if you can. Most of the time i just go through the hole in the metal next to it and reach through it to get to the inductor.
