I have a cocktail Millipede. I am unable to clear the high score table using the instructions from the manual. And although the display will show new high scores, if the machine is powered off and back on, it comes up with the old scores.

I haven't had a chance to dig into the schematics yet but I assume it uses an EEPROM or NVROM of some sort and/or battery backup. Has anyone had this problem before that can give me a head start to fixing it?

(Found the Centipede thread which discusses the EAROM. Will probably order the EEPROM replacement.)

Check if the -30V (it's a high negative voltage - going from memory here) is getting to the Earom. Sometimes the 555 in the circuit that generates that programming voltage dies. If you have the negative voltage, replace the earom and it still does not work, I've seen one of the buffer chips connected to the earom fail.

Thanks, I ordered a replacement 2055 EAROM. After almost 30 years it is probably over it's spec'd rewrite count.

If that doesn't work, I'll check the 555, the power, and buffer chip.
