Fired it up today and display is garbage. Won't do anything. Won't go into test.

Voltages on board are 5.5, 16 and -17 (at the 5, 15 and -15).

Are those off enough to keep it from working? Thanks

5.5V is high. Adjust it down using the pot on the AR.

You may also have other issues, but start there. Then power the game up with the test mode switch on, and see if you are getting any error codes. See the manual for details.

Great suggestion. Thanks. I completely forgot the power board on these had an adjustment pot. Got it down to 5.15 and it now boots and plays but has lines. Not sure what to look for in the test. Here's a pic

Flip the test switch.
Bad RAM or maybe POKEY? Killed perhaps by too much 5VDC.

NOTE: probably not either of the POKEYs ... I just like blaming them for everything. LOL

The other voltages are high as well. They're regulated, so they should be +15 and -15, plus or minus a quarter volt or so. It sounds like you might have multiple issues going on, but you can try replacing the regulators to get those voltages down.

Google and read the manual regarding the self tests.
