Howdy,
I've got a millipede machine that just displays columns of junk data. I measured all the voltages on the game board, power supply, and other boards and they are all within spec.

Here is a picture of what is displayed on the screen. Any idea what the problem could be?

Big blue original?

Check Big Blue...your voltages may read good on a voltmeter but if you can, check with a scope. Sometimes "dirty" regulated +5v can lead to issues.

Also, you might check voltages at the chips themselves to make sure your power is getting all the way across the board. I had a low power issue at one point and it caused the text to stay in German regardless of where the DIPs were set.

Good luck!

This is the issue I am currently facing on mine also. I will start with replacing the big blue and then move on to the AR board and main board. None of it has been recapped or serviced ever.

Could be anything, but check the reset circuit. IIRC it also uses the +10.3V unreg. If your +10.3 is missing it won't be able to boot.

+1 on the big blue and verifying power
If that does nt work remove the pokey and try again
If that does not solve the problem put the pokey back in and the next step is to verify your getting a clock signal
If you are getting a clock signal try replacing 6502 CPU

Millipede is very good with self test mode, If first checks ram and should beep 1 or 2 times if the ram is bad
if I remember correctly it does all ram checks with registers and one memory address so it can detect and report bad ram even if ram is bad (which is chicken and egg type situation)
Once work ram is checked it clears the screen and it moves to video ram and draws mushrooms to the screen and beeps 3-10 times depending on video ram issues, though you screen indicates it never go that far, which to me indicates bad power, bad clock, bad boot rom or bad CPU or a larger issue with the memory/address bus.

If you need it fixed I fix them and have a couple fixed and ready to go.
