millipede coctail overly help

Was reading this article on Agent X repro art package install and noticed it had probably the best walkthrough for installing repro art I've seen so far:

Other than those tips all I could say is surface prep is key. I recommend using a mild stripper to take off the old CPO so as to not have to repaint the panels. And if you have to repaint the panels I'd suggest getting them powder coated, not painted.

Goo Gone is ideal, yes. Luckily you're just doing some cocktail overlays so the project may not be too maddening to deal with that way. Only bad part is I'd imagine there is probably chipped powder coat or rust around the trackball hole.

On the panels I've stripped without completely repainting, I've found that a little satin black Rustoleum can be used for minor touch ups with decent results. Just gotta mask properly before you use it so you don't end up with little flecks of overspray that mess with adhesion.

Also for using Goo Gone I find it best to soak the panel down, let it sit for a few minutes, and scrape off the thick layers of glue with one of those plastic paint stripping tools. They don't mess up the powder coat and if you try to go at it with rags right off the bat you may be scrubbing until you're old and gray.
