I recently had trouble with my left / right roller movement. I bought a new optic board for the left / right (up/down was working fine) from Bob Roberts. I installed the optic board, and it works... except when I roll the roller ball left the ship moves right and vice versa. I tried turning the connector around but then the ship wouldn't move at all.

Any ideas?!? The old optic board seems to work a bit and then stop after a while each time I replace it...

Thanks!!!

Turning the connector and inserting it 180 degrees means that +5V and GND ended up on different pins for the opto board. Assuming you didn't completely fry the opto board, try swapping the two *connectors on the trackball, and then rotate the trackball 90 degrees on the control panel.

Unfortunately, one is the older Atari optic board and the other is the newer one so that wont work. Bob Roberts emailed me and suggested swapping the outside wires...
