NEW Miles traveled for your games

not that i don't like hanging with a fellow KLOVer on a roadtrip, but THIS all the way

maybe some folks just have more flex in their schedule, but i don't ... i rarely can dedicate a day and a half and head out at the last minute to hit the road for 1000 mile one-way trip and back for a game

i think this weekend was the longest (130 miles one way) i've traveled for a game

Honestly I've used uship to great success. I've paid $100-175 to ship games up the East Coast. Saves me 6-10 hours round trip, gas and tolls. I honestly don't get guys who drive all over creation unless they truly treasure the road trip and do other stuff...

Not near as far as others have gone. My record at this point is about 600 miles round trip. I think the saddest part of that is i didn't even make it out of the state. I went from my house to just north of Dallas.

Most are about 2 hr drive each way for me, which is where I cap it. I once did what was supposed to be 2.5 hrs each way for a Time Pilot, which turned into like 6 hrs. It wasnt really bad as the back half of the trip was late at night, so didnt miss out on much family time.

This neck of the words rarely do i find games within an hour of me.

From Kansas I have been to South Dakota twice last year, Omaha 3 times and Dallas once for games I really wanted... As always they were fun trips!

i think about 400 miles round trip is about as far as i've gone (that was to Salem, OR.) for the most part i draw my line at Portland, or about 2.5 hours/140 miles. there are plenty of games available in the Seattle area; i'm usually willing to wait for something to pop up at a reasonable price over dedicating a day to picking it up.

of course, if i can combine it with other stuff like hitting an arcade on the way (Portland is great for that!), or hiking the Pacific coast like i did after picking up a game from a friend in Port Angeles one February a few years ago, then i have a much better excuse for making that long drive. :)

I went from central ohio to NJ, Allentown PA, Charlotte 2x, Atlanta, Virginia and a bunch of closer places. 7-8 hours each way is my max and I've done it about 8 times.

Couple weeks ago the wife and I went from Atlanta to Lexington (about 5.5 hrs each way) to pick up a beautiful HUO TRON Pinball... owner was super nice and it was fun road trip ...

It was on Valentines Day so that reminded me just how supportive my wife is regarding my crazy hobby/obsession.

I'm sure glad I'm in LA where there are tons of games around - most of the games I've grabbed are like 15-20 miles. One time I went 50 miles, but I don't see myself going that far again anytime soon.
