If you've never dealt with a freshly rebuilt/new Nintendo stick then that could be the issue. It should return to center like it does in Mikes video, but it is not going to feel stiff like the ones with 30 years plus worth of rust/grease do.

Note: I've watched your videos several times over and I don't see anything wrong with it. It looks to be hitting the switches and centering itself.

So this behavior would be normal? https://youtu.be/Zfq2yej4MhY

Added this one as well, which just seems... bad: https://youtu.be/8M6DNgZYaic

So this more or less sorted the nasty feeling I perceived from the joystick. I open myself up once again to the peanut gallery... :)

some people really dont like the feel of nintendo sticks.

There are alternatives that will probably be more your speed.

Perhaps. Learning the differences today has been one of those "how do you know what you don't know moments". I appreciate the help in here, perspectives, and the few DMs I got. Thanks!

Here's a video of two Nintendo sticks. The one with the wrong ball, everything else is Nintendo parts, is rebuilt and the black one hasn't been touched yet. Hopefully this helps you out https://youtu.be/eTo4IL3hhqE

Those poor micro switches... wow

Appreciate the video.

Yes, their screams were difficult at first.

I had Mikes nintendo stick on a multi machine and its a really good repro.

I honestly think there are people who say they hate DK or suck at it and 90% of that is the original stick, it takes some getting used to..you almost have to fight the stick to get it to do what you want until you get used to it.

Once in a while I will play DK on my arcadeSD with a pacman stick and it feels weird but somehow easier that way with the tighter smoother action.

Anyways.. if you arent going play seriously on DK where you need everything to be 100% stock then get something that feels good for you.
