I just received my DK repop control panel from Mike's Arcade. It's advertised as laminate but it's actually double sided 1/2" melamine on particle board. Has anyone else purchased one of these and if so, what was your experience?

Is it really particle board? Or is it OSB? ("flake board")

IIRC, mine was machined HD OSB. I'll have to look next time I'm near that machine.

It's funny you say that, from the side it looks like particle board but where it was routed it looks like OSB. The flakes are smaller though, not like normal OSB. Either way, it's not 9/16" plywood and it's not laminate.

Here's a wood one if you really want wood:

Thanks for the heads up on the wood, I should have just relaminated mine, didn't make sense at the time though. It was rough and needed everything. The only thing pretty much worth saving was the wood.

Ok. So my memory is working correctly. :)

HD OSB = High Density Oriented Strand Board. But I think it might actually be "wafer board" which uses smaller flakes that are randomly placed instead of OSB's larger and more carefully oriented strands. Anyway, it *is* an engineered material, not natural. And it is *not* particle board...which should be outlawed because it is a crime against humanity.
