I had one of those Happ joystick on my prebuilt NEW DK Jr. CP and I liked it. However, I now have a true Nintendo 4 way joystick in my DK Jr. and love that even more.

I'd go and get a Wico 4/8 way joystick and get a NOS Grommet and Balltop.

Is there some reason Sanwa JLFs with the octagonal restrictor aren't used more in multi-games? No switching and it still gives 4-way restriction while maintaining 8-way ability.

Sanwa's are great for fighters but aren't very "authentic" feeling for the classics.

I have used the "Mag-Stik Plus" for 4/8 way use since they can be switched easily:

Not cheap but worth it I think.

I see they have a ball style 4/8 way - "Mag-Stik Plus Ball-Top". It is an add-on so you by the "Mag-Stik Plus" and the "Ball-Top" shaft.

Shipping was fast but not exactly cheap.

my magstick plus was junk. stripped hole for one of the switches straight out of the box, i also got an ipac and the software cd that came with it was cracked. i love ultimarcs products and their quality is generally better, but i got screwed on the magstick.

Bummer. I have got two or three in use - so far so good. :)

Neither of those sticks are really switchable. They're switchable in the sense that you can disassemble them and switch between 4 and 8 way, but they aren't "flip a switch" or "easy reach under the panel to switch" type of sticks.

I haven't tried one of these, but they look pretty good:

I think they are very good in place of a Nintendo stick.
I think they are the closest you can get.
I use one with my 60-1 and it works great for me.

i agree. i have one in my dk and it is awesome. i'd say more responsive than original nintendo sticks.

however, it blows on pac titles.

I don't really have any problems playing any of the games on my 60-1,with the exception of Centipede and Millipede.:D
I use the track ball for those.

Did you contact Andy the owner, his Customer service is top notch, I'm sure he would have made it right.
I only have had good experience's with him.
He even sent me a replacement part free of charge and I bought his product from a 3rd party.

I use a Semistu... with a rigid restrictor

Kind of Clunky... But gets the job done.

yeah, i contacted him. dont remember what was said but i do know i still have a broken joystick and never got a replacement cd for the cracked one. i think i was irritated enough to not want to deal with it at the time. i got some happ stuff and it all worked perfectly so thats cool. also, the ipac works great so i am satisfied. probably my own fault, i'm not the best at communicating and tend to get distracted and forget about things.

Personally, i am digging the groovy game gear one.. i may have to try that out later.. But i am going to get the JLW-TM-8 for this multigame as it should be fine for the buyer..

the problem is that i am getting killed on paying shipping from so many vendors. Admittedly I didnt plan so well, but i would love to buy from lizardlick, but they are 2-3 weeks behind. I need this asap! i may have to suck it up and pay the $12 shipping on just a joystick via ultimarc.
