Midwest Gaming Classic 2011, who's going?

I always go, but I wish it was a huge classic arcade and pinball thing, I could do without all the Guitar Hero and Commodore 64 junk

How are the prices of the machines? Pretty reasonable or do you need to bring an ice bag to sit on during the trip home? Also are they selling parts or just full machines?

I would say prices are fair to a little high in the past. I would just throw a post out to anyone going and ask if they have anything for sale and meet them at the event, you'll probably get a better deal.

Very true!
I suppose I should get my foot in the door and ask if anyone has any good condition (read: working and clean, not HUO minty) DMD pins they are interested in selling let me know.
I plan on putting them out on route for awhile so I don't mind some scratches on the cabinet but the playfield should be in good shape.

Damn, That was what I was looking for as well. Mine would be going straight into the garage though.

Great news! Galloping Ghost arcade is collaborating with the VGEvo/Retroids group to have arcade games in our room at the show! Expect high score contests, etc. Number of games, actual titles, and contests TBD. More as it becomes available.

For those who live in the Chicago area and haven't been there, it is a very cool place.

Huh? We had just under 200 video and pinball machines this past year. What are you talking about? Likewise most of our tournaments are in the coin arena.

The Midwest Gaming Classic is an all encompassing show from past to present in Consoles, Video Coin, EM/Pinball, and Computers. Additionally, this year is our 10th Anniversary Show. As such we've expanded our space even more (we were at 30,000 sq ft last year), added more events, displays, and happenings. That includes more coin dealers and parts suppliers as well.

Also new this year is the special Friday night Arcade: Factory to Floor tour as we try to add more Friday events as well for the people arriving early.

Just to add to the list of speakers now in fact:

My friend, Atari Co-Founder Ted Dabney, and I will be doing a live Skype chat/interview/etc. at this year's Midwest Gaming Classic. It's scheduled for Saturday the 26th at 3:30pm central in the E2M sponsored Museum room (consoles '72 to present, vintage computers).

This will be my first time at MGC, and can't wait to check everything out. Ive heard so much about everything that goes on and all the games there are to play. I'll be be there doing my usual thing selling pop, so stop by and say HI!

Got to meet him last fall at the Pinball Expo :) Talked with him a bit about Tron (one of my favorite games)

Almost worth going just to meet her :D
"Trickman" Terry Minnich and Ken "Sushi X" Williams - of Electronic Gaming Monthly fame.
Trickman posts here regularly, so if you go, you can add him to your "KLOVers in the flesh" list ;)

Anyone interested in monitors at the show?
I have a couple 27" tri-res monitors taking up space I can bring out with the rest of my stuff.
