Thanks to Scott Pikulski of Play Mechanix, I have had the opportunity to do a write-up on the last game that Midway (Chicago, thanks atariscott) was developing before they pulled out of coin-op called RIP Squad: Raids Against the Reich. It's a real shame that this was canned as it's a pretty cool take on the shooter genre, giving the player a 360 degree view of the playfield, destructible environments and more.

Video, pictures and more here:

Watched some of the video. That looks like a great game. I like the graphic of the woman 'riding' the machine gun. That is cool.

Last game for Midway? Wow! Midway games were the thing of the 80s you know!

That may be the last 'Midway Chicago' game, but the 'Midway West' team was working on Hot Rod Rebels (a sequel to 2049) and several playstation 2 games including JOUST and a street racing game.

That's what I thought but Scott wasn't specific and I couldn't find out when Hot Rod Rebels was canned. Thanks for the info!
