Midway Touchmaster 7000; How Do I Get the Chassis Out!!!??

I have a Midway Touchmaster 7000 that is in desperate need of a cap kit. Does anyone know how to get the monitor chassis out? The gameboard is on bottom and that slides right out, but the monitor chassis is fixed to the top of the unit.

I looked to see if maybe the monitor comes out the front, but I just can't find a way.

Also, would anyone happen to have a cap list or anyone know where to get a cap kit?

Thanks!

**** EDIT ****

It appears that this was converit from a merit of some sort, the case that I have is the type in this manual:

http://www.happcontrols.com/midway/Touchmaster/Merit_to_Ctop/16_80020_101.pdf

the markings on the neckboard are:

type 6 monitor
samsung 170

If the cabinet you have is like the one you have linked to, it's a Merit XL series. A pic of the back of the cabinet opened up would be a help. The tech manual is here:

http://www.meritgames.com/Support_Center/manuals/Megatouch XL Technical Service Manual.pdf

The cabinet cover has to come off and the complete monitor is lifted out to get at the chassis.

If the label across the back of the neckboard is Type 6, more than likely an Eygo monitor. Would have to look up my notes for sure.

Thank you for your reply. I think it's more like a Megatouch 5, but it doesn't say anything about removing the monitor. The pic you requested is attached.

Okay, it appears to be a "pit boss megatouch 2" judging by the case design on the fact that the key is in the middle of the case, not the bottom.

How do I get the monitor out of a pit boss megatouch 2 case to get the chassis?

I think I found it:

Removal/Access of Monitor and CD Player - Countertop
1. Turnoffthegameandunplugitfromitspowersource.
2. Removethelid(forlidremovalinstructionsseethedecallocatedinsidethereardoor).
3. Removethetouchscreencontrolleranddisconnectthetouchscreencontrollercablefromthe back of the controller. Also, disconnect the Molex connector connecting the orange and gray wires from the touchscreen controller cable to the main harness, and the green wire with ring lug, that is attached to the metalwork, next to the controller. See Figure 1 for touchscreen controller location.
4. Disconnectthemonitorsignalcablefromthemotherboard.SeeFigure1.
5. Removethefournutssecuringthemonitorchassistothemainchassis;twonutsarelocated on each side of the monitor board. NOTE: BE CAREFUL TO AVOID THE FLYBACK TRANSFORMER AND HIGH VOLTAGE WIRE RUNNING TO THE MONITOR. See Figure 2 for locations.
6. Disconnectthemonitorpowerconnection(blackandwhitewiresrunningfrommonitorboardto right angle connector plugged into power supply).
7. Pickupthemonitorassemblyandremoveitfromthecabinet. 8. TheCDplayerislocatedunderneaththemonitorassembly.

Okay, older style than I thought.

The 2 brass screws, 1 one each side hold the top case in. Remove them and you have to slide the case forward and then lift it off.

The monitor is attached by 4 screws at the top, IIRC you can just loosen them, then slide the monitor forward, lift up and out. Be sure to disconnect anything connected to the monitor, i.e videocable, power connector.

thanks a LOT for your help, the top came off really easy. Once I did that I took out 2 screws and loosened two more and the chassis slid off.

The chassis is a Eygo UCS-13CS-28SR

Would you happen to know which caps I need to replace? Besides just replacing every one, at least I was able to find a schematic as some caps weren't readable from the board.

Sorry, but I can't help with the cap list, as we didn't have any problems with the monitors when we had these machines out. Traded them in as the newer ones came out.

As a kind of quick rule, I'd replace any caps in the horizontal, vertical and power supply sections. Also those around the flyback area.

Per the schematic I ordered every cap from Mouser. I'm sure it's overkill but the whole order was only $20. I made an excel spreadsheet with cap locations and values. Once I get the caps and everything works out I'll post the excel. I'm sure someone will have the same questions in 5 years and maybe a reference will help.
