Midway PS "BIG CAPS"

I ordered these from Bob Roberts.

55000uf and 100000uf.

These are for a Tapper that I'm restoring.

Hope it helps.

The game is Midway GunFight, the manual doesn't include PS schematics. Thanks I'll order them.

Gun Fight has a totally different power supply than a Tapper. Those above mentioned caps are way too big for the Gun Fight.

According to the schematics...it uses...

2000uf25V axial
1000uf35V axial
20000uf16V axial
6000uf35V axial
470uf16V
10uf25V
10uf25V (optional)

A couple of those are impossible to find values...so you have to use the next available size...Example: 2000uf is no longer made...substitute a 2200uf.

Thanks, one thing I noticed was that the 2 rec diodes by the plug have burnt areas around the base and heat up alot? I am guess that's not normal. the Diode # is 1n5624.

I was looking at that also. However, the power supply he mentioned is a 80-901 and the power supply in the manual is a 80-904. There is a note in the manual that two different power supplier were used in the game but there is only one schematic listed. WTF?

That entire area gets really hot. Make sure all those diodes are clean with fresh solder. They're usually fine, but it doesn't hurt to test them.

IIRC, the only difference between the two were the voltage adjustment pots. One only had adjustments for the 5VDC line.....then they updated it with two additional adjustment pots for the 12VDC line and the -5VDC line.
