Did you ever find out what the issue was? I have a very similar situation with my set up. Replaced speakers, electrolytics, repinned connectors on the dual power amp, replaced semiconductores on the dual power amp. I have tested the cheap squeak delux - theme music plays if i connect the audio feed to an extrnal amp. I get no game sounds no matter what. The amp makes a loud hum in one channel.

I have discovered that there can so many things that it is infuriating!
BTW, don't have a Spy Hunter any more and Tron is working so have shelved the MCR projects for a while. Got wrapped up in dismantling a container of rotten cabinets to save whatever could be saved.
