I have a MK2 pcb on the way and I've never deal with any Midway pcbs before. Got couple questions.

from what I've read there's a ribbon cable that is used to transfer audio data from the audio pcb to the main pcb and I know there's also a power cable that provides power to the audio board from the main pcb

can any computer IDE cable be used? or are they specific?

my other question is does MK2 run in mono off the jamma edge or is there a stereo out connection somewhere on the one of the pcbs?

and does MK2 have a seperate volume pot that you connect to the pcb like NBA jam and MK1?

any input about these Midway boards would be helpful. I like to know why they are setup the way they are.

I believe around that time they came out with the up down volume buttons on the test bracket inside the door, or it was adjusted in volume adjustments menu.
mk2 does not have a pot coming off the sound board like mk1.
A cable is cable but it is a smaller cable then a ide cable. It will work but you better hook it up right.
MK2 only has ribbon cable and power cable going from cpu board to sound board.

Thanks for the info. I also checked on crazykong and found all the pinout details for all the connections on the pcb. so I got it pretty figured out now.

the only thing I really was wondering was about that volume pot, but if volume is adjusted in menu that's great. I also found the connection where I'm guessing the volume up/down buttons get wired too if I want to go that route.
