*** GAME HAS BEEN SOLD ***

For sale - Midway mini Solar Fox with 60-in-1 board, $450

Excellent condition. Fully working.

I've preserved and restored the original exterior cosmetics of this game. Some Operator JAMMA-tized it long ago, so I installed a 60-in-1 board. (The original boards, power supply, and wiring harness are long gone.)

Very clean game, great condition.
New t-molding, leg levelers.
New AC power wiring.
New leafswitch pushbuttons.
Original Midway leafswitch joystick with new centering grommet installed.
Midway-style mini red buttons added above joystick on control panel for player 1 and 2 start buttons.
60-in-1 board.
LEDs installed to light up marquee.
WG K4800 monitor. Re-capped.
Includes coin bucket and quarter coin mechs. Can be set for coin play or free play.

Available for pickup in Twin Cities metro area. Non-local buyers would need to make their own shipping arrangements. PM me if interested in buying.

i would have loved this if only it were closer, i would have wanted the solar fox cab only. i have the u/r and a mini would be cool.

I have a solar fox mini, pretty cool game. That joystick almost looks like a tron cocktail joystick. Does it have a fire button on it?

man that cpo is clean, is it original or does someone make a repro? I'd love to replace mine.

Yeah, that is the same as a tron cocktail stick; a few other B/M games used them like Gorf CT. It has a fire button on the top back (you can see the black piece in the bigger pictures on his Picassa site he linked to).

They designed the game without 1/2 player options (thus why he had to add in the two cocktail start buttons above the stick for 60-in-1 use), and they dual-setup the fire button. You can either use the trigger on the stick or hit the B button on the panel (far button). Where the closer button is the other function. A bit backwards than most games.

That CPO is original, though obviously it had front edge wear so it looks like it was trimmed back neatly, sanded and painted black. I've done that with Galaga panels myself when there is too much missing to be worth saving on the edge.

Yep, and exactly. The cpo was pretty much gone along that front edge. I did exactly as you said - trimmed it back, cleaned it up, masked it off, and painted that black strip.

For pics of what this cabinet looked like when I acquired it, see this thread:

The tron ones are blue, the gorf ones are black. That's from a Satan's Hollow cocktail. A set just sold on ebay too.

the tron cocktail sticks are red as well. (I had one)
my solar fox mini does not have a stick with a button on it. It's more like a ms pac stick.
Nice work on that edge of the cp, I think I will do something like that to mine.

interesting that the back door has the plastic bump.. my solar fox mini (converted to trivia whiz) doesnt have that.. the back door is all flat.

Is Trivia Whiz a horizontal game? Perhaps they replaced the back door? Usually the Midway cabarets have the back door bubble because when the monitor is mounted vertically, the monitor frame sticks out farther. The Bosconians that were factory converted to Galagas also had a bubble put in the back door. (Bosconian has a similar shaped cab, but not quite as deep as a standard Galaga cab)

shit. it is horizontal. they must have replaced the back door as it looks original (slots and stuff).. do they make the bubbles for them?

Bubbles do pop-up from time to time and I believe there is one on ebay now.
