Hi all.
I've been having problems with the power supply in my omega race, for some reason the 5volt line would drop out to about 1.5 volts. I removed the power supply and started testing components in the +5v section. I swapped out the LM305H from the 12v section and it made no difference. I checked all the caps, transistors, resistors and everything looked good.
I was about to give up, i had spent days trying to get to the bottom of the problem. I decided to remove the cap across pin 7 and 6 of the LM305h (0.1mf) and the 5 volts returned! I guess it was breaking down under load.
I've read about other people having problems with the 5v lines on these linear power supplies, thought it may help someone else in future.
