Hi;
I'm all done with my Gun Fight restoration - (almost!), really nice glass bezel and all.....
BUT, after playing for about an hour and now every time I turn it on, I get "jail bars" around the characters, the gun fighters as well as the cactus etc.
I searched the forum for "Gun Fight" and "Jail Bars" but nothing was the same problem I have.
I am leaning towards a RAM issue, can anyone confirm my suspicions?
Thanks in advance

OK;
I searched RGVAC for "Gun Fight" and "Jail Bars" and came across
just one post with the same problem:
http://tinyurl.com/GunFightBars

I downloaded the 8080 test manual but I don't have an oscilloscope and
don't fully understand the testing procedures.

Am I to understand that to perform a RAM test, I have to pull all the
EPROMs and just fire it up and look for missing lines on the display?

Thanks in advance
Jeff

I'm slightly confused the link mentions the problem you have and the possible bad connection and or sound board problem. But the manual does say you can pull the ERPOMs to verify.

I see no harm in starting the game with no EPROMS, so that might work.

Thanks guys......
I'm going to pull the ROMs and fire it up. This way I can see the results of this procedure as well as then re-seat all the ROMs - just to make sure.
I hope that it takes care of the problem.
I'll post the results......
Jeff
