I am slowly putting together a Zwackery. I am trying to wire the dual power amp between the sound board and the speaker. The schematics mention pins 2&3 going to the original power supply. I don't have the original supply and am working with a standard switcher. My question is, what is the voltage that this board requires and can I run it directly from the switcher?

given it's an amplifier it would need +12V. I forgot how terrible Midway's documentation was with anything pertaining to wiring. it looks like all the wiring comes from the SSIO though, not from the power supply.

I have this paperwork, but as you said some things are vague. I had suspected 12v. So, my question is can I run wires for ground and 12v directly from the power supply to J1 pins 5&8 (if I am reading it right).

When you say ssio, do you mean the soundboard (artificial artist )? I believe some other mcr games called the soundboard ssio, but it has been a while since I have had an mcr in here.

SSIO = "Super Sound I/O".

Top board on the PCB stack.

It is marked

I don't see any markings as to SSIO on either of these boards . If I remember correctly (and I may not), SSIO was Disks of Tron Spyhunter etc. The only reason I am lost is I am starting with absolutely no wiring , no original power supply and just the 3 boards (3 stack main, artificial intelligence sound and dual power amp.) The schematics are unclear (at least to me).

This schematic is for tron. They are not the same. Here is Zwackery

Are you really that bad at reading schematics?

well, no help here so I will go with my original interpretation and report back . I will run pins 8 to 12v and 5 to ground directly to the switcher

I mean, that's a wiring diagram and they asked about what voltage you supply the Dual Amp with. Midway only put a bunch of wire colors there and don't say what they actually do. I'm not hallucinating here am I?
...and 2 wires clearly lead back to the power supply...

it looks like all the wiring comes from the SSIO though, not from the power supply.

...and the wiring diagram shows what pin numbers they go to:

...and those pin number shockingly correspond to pins in the power supply schematic:

None of that says the voltage required if you don't have the original power supply . Also, apparently this is now a "I am the smartest man in the room contest". Wtf. Also, the advice does not apply because my board is not the same .

Well you could do the actual work of looking at the datasheet for the amplifier that's shown in the schematic...

What makes you think your board is different?
The F000 rev number instead of E000?
The fact that it only uses 1 of the 2 amps?

Isn't audio almost always run off of 12v?

I'm all for checking the manual to be sure though.

The Zwackery documentation did not provide any detail on voltages for the amplifier board.. This was all to be 100% sure the correct voltage was used. I looked up the datasheet for the amplifier on the board and confirmed 12v with @redfivexw. Everything is working nicely.

V Audio did not have a pin number.. root of all confusion
