My DD has a Wells Gardner 25K5501 monitor in it that I'm about to light on fire.
I can get the screen to stop rolling for a few minutes, but when the screen graphics change it slowly starts to roll again!

I also tried a newer 25" NeoTek monitor but it wont sync at all.

Is there a newer monitor that will work with my game?

Any guidance greatly appreciated.

Is your Neo Tek a Medium Res monitor or standard? I had a DD pcb set with a bad sync output before (three board stack). Only board I ever ran into with that problem....

What inputs are you using to your NeoTek monitor? Negative composite sync?

This problem sounded familiar so I did a search on rec.games.video.arcade.collecting:

Mark Spaeth
"The syncs on tron are negative separate sync. You can AND or XNOR them
together with a 7408 or 2 gates of 7486 respectively to get negative
composite sync if that's what you need."

I recall having to do a similar trick to get my set to work on my Jamma game. I believe this applies to all MCR games.
