Have the chance to pick up a dead demo derby somewhat local to me.. Looks complete, and its in nice shape.. Hopefully $125-150 price range..

Would like to keep it for a while, but if I was to sell it.. Think I'd get my investment back after new ps, monitor (tube has lots of burn), and other bits..

Try to buy games with a little room so when my wife complains that the hobby is taking over I can move it somewhat quickly.. :) hell if I could get $350 once its up and running I'd be golden..

Thanks for any opinions..

I have one that I tried to sell once on here and the offers we're more like $300. People want the 4 player version. The upright also has no repro stuff available for it. I still going to hold on to it. It was a game I played BITD. It takes less space as the 4 player and is a fun Game to play.

Thanks man.. I used to play a 4-player that was in a local arcade back in the 80s.. Loved it, but I don't have the room or deep pockets for one.. Haven't ever played the upright version, so there is/was some concern on playability..

It would look awesome next to my spy hunter.. Plus my 3 year old would totally love it.. Damn, just need to bite the bullet and grab it.. Hell, $300 would still prolly cover my investment. As I have a dozen or so 19"'monitors with new donor tubes.

To me, in good shape, it's a $400-$500 game. It's fun, rare, and a great alternative if you don't have the budget or space for the 4-player game. Also, it's got awesome art.

I paid $400 for mine - it was my first game. Based on where you live, it's likely you have a chance to acquire the very machine I used to own. See if it comes with a flyer. :D

We never think they will fit but it does fit.

Well I couldn't pass up the chance to pick up a cheap Bally game :) It's in the back of my truck as I type this.. Guy wanted $200, I talked him down to $140. Cpo, bezel, marquee are near perfect.. Sideart is also very nice, with a few scratches to the left side..

The retired gent I bought it from was a tv repairman on the side.. So the GO7 is rebuilt with a new fly.. Bonus..

Never saw a power supply like this one.. Kinda expected the typical MCR kind like in my spy hunter.. So its gonna be an adventure fixing it :)

I'll post pics later tonight.

keep me updated on your repairs! i'm picking up (well, having delivered since my van is down at the moment) a dead upright D-Derby this week sometime. the boards were all tested in a working game so those are at least known good. he's not sure if it's the power supply or something else since he never got past testing the boards but that's a likely culprit. i'm paying more than you did to have it delivered but the cab's in really nice shape and it's been quite a while since i've seen one for sale around here.

I pulled the ps/transformer out last night.. Recapped and cleaned up the condor switching original ps.. The tested the ps, blew a resistor with a shower of sparks. Heh, awesome.. Looks like I'll be installing a modern switcher with a homemade adapter as I can't find an off the shelf one..

Its not your machine, as this was bought 20+ years ago by the guy I bought it from.. He purchased it for his bar, which is where it sat till he retired 5 years ago.. Then it went into his home.

I took some pics this morning, will upload when I'm behind my home computer.. iPhones are tough to attach photos into klov.

Would love to see pictures - wanna see if this was once my machine.

They are. I wish it were easier.

I'm not sure who does repro's.. But in my search for parts I noticed QuarterArcade.com has NOS control panel overlays :) $25 each!!

That is one sweet 4 player Demo Derby! Do you have a restore thread on it? Who has the artwork repros? I would love for mine to look that nice.

Hijack away, as my Demo Derby now works!!!

Hell yeah, made myself a switcher adapter out of header pins and a switcher..
Game works perfectly and the monitor is awesome, minus the burn.. But I've got a burn free tube ready to go..

So awesome. Less than 24hours and its working.

One of the coolest things about Demonlition Derby is that the steering wheels were factory-made to be wonky. (I think.)

I want to see inside of this game. My Demo derby has the typical MCR hardware. I have the MCR III boardstack with the typical power supply board.

Here are the photos as promised. ;)

Needs a bit more cleaning.. Also going to install some corner protectors as there already is a chip on one.. Have a new tube to toss in, then it's done!
