Anyone have any ideas on how to take apart the coin return button on a midway coin door? One of my buttons is stuck half way and the other one is just stuck. I've tried liquid wrench, wd-40 and the button won't budge.

I've got the same problem...you tried everything I've tried. Right now, I'm waiting for paint to dry before trying it again.

Take the coin acceptor out of the affected mech holder. Now remove the three 1/4" hex head screws from the mech holder and it comes completely off the door.

Now you should be able to see what's keeping the button stuck.

Return

I have seen them stick when the coin mech is not installed and the return gets pushed. Usually you can wiggle them from the back side with the mech removed and they will pop back out. If it is stuck halfway in from rust. Good luck. I have extras if you need them.

If it is stuck because of rust, I soak the mech holder in "C-L-R" (calcium-Lime-Rust) remover full strength for an hour. That usually frees it up. Then wire brush the assembly and rinse off with hot water. Blow dry with a hair dryer.

Can the coin return button be removed from the mech holder? It seemed to be attached directly to the mech holder. I'll try the CLR solution and see if that works.
