Looking at this connector for a Midway Coin door, what are the two wires that have been cut for? My hypothesis is either a counter or lights for the $.25 windows? This coin door has neither.

...counter is there, but service/test switches aren't. My guess is now service/test switches....

If you don't get an answer before tonight, I'd be glad to have a look at mine. PM me to remind me if you still need to know.

Dude, I've been trying to find the pinout schemes for all the different Midway games for weeks. Bob sent me the link above, but the wiring scheme on that doesn't match that of my Ms. Pac cocktail, however, it does on my Satan's Hollow for instance.

No mention of coindoor pinout in any of the manuals, or anywhere on the interwebs either.

Go figure.

What cabinet/game is this? Is this the connector and harness in the cabinet or is this the connector on the coin door itself?

Connector is on the coindoor itself from a converted Galaxian cabinet... it had been converted to a PC10.

Well, according to the Galaxian manuals, these are the wire colors/functions:

Red: common to coin sw, service credits sw, test sw, and tilt/slam switch (if installed, many Galaxians did not have this switch).

Orange-black: coin switch N.O. terminal (both coin switches were wired in parallel).

Blue: Tilt/Slam switch (if installed)

Red-Green: service credits switch

Orange-White: Test switch

Blue-Red: coin meter (cathode side of the diode)

Green-White: coin meter (anode side of the diode)

Always keep in mind that during that period of the game's manufacture, Midway may have substituted wires of another color due to wiring shortages during production.

Fyi, all midway coin doors are not pinned out the same. Im pretty sure a galaxians test/service switch is actually on a seperate connector. On later games like mspac it is on the coin door connector because the switches are mounted on the coin door.

Yes that is correct on the wiring. Starting with Ms. Pac, Midway moved the test & service credits switches as well as the coin counter meter onto a bracket on the coin door near the hinge. They also decided to provide a couple of wires for a lighting circuit (fused naturally) to illuminate the coin entry pricing plates.

Later games used YELLOW (instead of red) as the color for the common wire to all switches.

Yeah they had to confuse things more by changing the wire colors down the road. If I have an unknown coin door I just pop the pins out and repin it to whatever game im working on.

Later Midway door wires are:

White: coin meter cathode side

White-yellow: Coin meter #1 (or just a single meter) anode side

White-blue: coin meter #2 (if a dual meter door) anode side

Orange-Green: coin switch N.O. terminal (if wired parallel)

Brown-white: coin switch # 1 (if wired seperate)

Brown-black: coin switch # 2 (if wired seperate)

Blue-yellow: tilt/slam switch

Green-red: coin door lights (12 volts)

Orange-red: coin door lights (12 volts)
