Midway Coin Door Logo Plate "Rivet" Thread

Peale,
Looks like they might have something that will work but the head wont be exactly the same. If they require you to buy a large quantity I am willing to purchase them. We will need some samples first before buying a large lot to be sure its what we need.

*finally* revisiting this. Called today, I need the total thickness of the coin door plate and the coin door. The hole diameter is a plus.

These work well. The hole needs to be slightly enlarged to 1/8". The head is very close to the originals and they look great installed. Im going to inquire about buying them in large quantity from my local hardware store but even at retail they are priced decent. They have been added to my website if anyone is interested in some.

Interesting. I've never used split rivets, how do they work? Have a pic of them installed?

You just put the rivit in and spread the ears out, its simple. Sorry, dont have any pictures right now. I might install them on my mspac so I can post some pics of it when its done.

The point of this thread was to find the match of the original equipment. So far these rivets you found require the hole to be enlarged, and they don't roll into place with a tool, the ends split.

I'm 99% certain the ones I'm getting samples on are the right ones. I'll post pictures, etc when I receive them.

It would be great if you can find an exact match. I sure havent had any luck doing so. Let us know what you find when you get the samples.

I finally received the samples today! After waiting, and follow-up phone calls, and more waiting, and a request on the website, and more waiting, they showed up...

...and they're wrong. They won't go in the hole unless the hole is opened up a hair. Which means either the hole quoted to me is wrong, or they made a mistake when I was given the dimensions.

How much is a hair? Hell, I sometimes have to run the 3/32" drill bit in there to get the 3/32" pop rivets to fit.
