These are the #6 - 32 x 1/4 Carriage bolts - silver that hold the coin entry plate in place - anyone know where i can pick up a set of 4 (just need 3) (anyone repro these)? I looked online but find i would have to buy in bulk (100+).

I have a thread in the WTB so please send me a note if you've got em. Thanks!

Dunno if you want to do this, but you could go to Quarter Arcade. They're brite plated 6-32 x 1 carriage bolts in a 10-pack, but you could use the screw cutter part of your solderless connector crimping tool to cut them to length. Around here, we have a hardcore surplus electronics store with big bins of assorted screws. I can usually find what I want there for 5 cents each. But I don't charge myself the hour labor it takes to sort through them.

I work at a fastener distributor. Let me check and see if we have any in stock. If we do and they weren't that expensive for us to get, I'll see them to ya for free

Thanks so far guys -

-- Bob Roberts reply - pretty much impossible to get!

-- I could get them from Anthony at QA and cut them down. Before i do will check to see if i have any longer ones lying around and hacksaw them down (not looking forward to that).

Going to Home depot to see what they've got. In the meantime please let me know if anyone has a few before i start making a revision from a longer screw. Thanks!

Really, it works a lot better to use one of these than a hacksaw:

With a #6 screw, the hacksaw blade would have to be really fine to work. Also, you'll crush the edges of the screw head in the vise. In the above tool, the threads in the handle act like a die to straighten out the burr. My 2nd choice would be an abrasive disk cutoff tool--just thread a nut on there first.

That worked like a charm - never thought to use the Crimp tool to cut these small bolts. Cut them down to about 1/4 and now have nice shiny bolts (had a few longer ones laying around). Thanks!
