This is interesting, I don't have this issue and have a new piece of glass from when I restored mine but re-used the original glass tabs. Could it be your glass?

His glass might be thinner thus the clips don't apply the pressure needed to hold it in. Either you might want to bend the clips so they clamp better or you might want to cut out some shims out of some silicon rubber

The reproduction glass clips are too tall and don't grip the glass properly. I'd estimate they're between 1/16" and 1/8" too tall, so I usually bend them in a padded vice to shorten them up.

That's really a bummer since it's an easy enough part to make, I'm not sure why they've never fixed this issue over the years. If you can use the originals by sanding & repainting them, that's the best route.

Another option if you're using the reproduction clips is to sandwich washers between the lower lip and the underside of the plywood top, using the screws to keep them in position. It's a hassle to install them that way, but the end result looks better than having clips sticking up.

Yeah I used my originals, just sanded and painted them. If the OP has them still, that's what I would do. So diappointing to hear the repos suck.
