Picked up a few games 340 miles R/T little farm town. Estate Sale the family told me that the family had owned a Arcade for over 40 years. These games were bought new by them. Paperwork and original manual in the Chopper, and a repair invoice dated 1978 in the destruction derby.

The Midway Chopper and Exidy Derby were in the same spot in the Barn since 1980 the lady told me, until they moved them for the sale.

Chopper is in amazing shape. its almost all there. only thing missing were the pinball legs and a plate that covers the controls. I hope Takeman can make me one. It even still has the 8 track player and the tape. The inside is clean.

So far I have got it to light up displays work, and it coins up and light a credit light.

Had to drill the locks found around 18 dollars in quarters in the coinbox. Latest date was 1980. 7 quarters were silver :)

Someday I will learn you always drill the coin door lock first!! The machine was loaded on the back end of the truck, with the back end by the tailgate. Since I didnt have pinball legs to set it up on, I figured I would drill the backl locks first. Had to drill them both to get in. Once in I could see keys hanging from the coin door. LOL I was able to get to the back of the coin door lock, so I didnt have to drill it. There were 4 keys 2 to each of the back locks. I have done this a few times now. Alway drill the coin door first.

The Distruction Derby should clean up. Have not got into that coin box yet:) Marquee is broken, and its missing the small edge connector to the main PCB. I pluggged it in and have neck glow. Cant go any further until I find a edge connector. Does Bob Roberts sell small edge connectors. I think there are 6 wires that go to it?

Nice. Two cool looking games you have there. I have Demolition Derby which is the Chicago Coins version of Destruction Derby. It's a project that is still sitting in the garage though.

Looks like a lot of fun. I hope I get a chance to play them.

My 4 year old daughter watched the videos and wants to play it bad, she was drawing chopper pictures tonight lol. Im going to have my pinball tech look at it this week. I do have the manual, but im not used to working on machines this old.

Wow! Nice score man.

I was looking for a Chopper for the longest time and never found one.

Enjoy!
Tom

Would have looked great next to that EM Lunar Lander you had. I hear that machine is coming to Wa State soon.

Started cleaning up the Destruction Derby today. Man this thing is dirty.

Im not done cleaning the control panel yet. But I was very happy the the steering wheels were not rusted. They Cleaned up nice. With a little more time and a magic eraser, I think the control panel will look awesome!! Still have along way to go with this machine.

If you want to sell the Midway Chopper, email me kovalski3 AT COMCAST DOT NET

I usually have some nice games for trade.

I was looking for a few parts and contacted the guy that restored this one
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jlf8tCK2I3I

He had the parts I wanted, but wanted the machine even more. Machine was sold to him and shipped to CA. I knew it was the right place for this machine. It will get a full restoration.
