Anyone know how many std cabinets were manufactured. I know they were released on Oct 31st, 1998 and I'm not sure when they were finished or how many were manufactured. I Just picked up a super clean 2nd owner machine that was built on Dec 8 1998. It was never put out on location. It came with the manual, all original keys, coin buckets, mini shotguns and an extra hard drive.

I can't answer your question but I would like to congratulate you on an awesome pickup. also pictures please!

Ah sweet congrats on the pickup that game is pretty creepy if you ask me haha. Not sure about the production run info though either.

I don't know about the production run, but IMHO they are much harder to find with the original shotguns.

not an uncommon cabinet and easy to find but cool game if you ask me

Well I like to know your sources on one of those.. haha I guess I've been trying to hard to find one that I overlook the obvious.. ?

I can't say how many we're made, but the company I work for has 3 dedicated carnevil uprights, 4 conversion kit machines, and I own 1 dedicated machine, and had a conversion kit machine as well, but ended up parting that one out.

From what I've seen in the wild, there seems to be at least twice as many conversion kit machines as dedicated uprights. I've only seen a few dedicated showcase cabinets.

The regular guns are 1/3 of the price, and the gun halves seem to last longer than the mini pump guns.

nice score...the ones at auction here always have the generic happ guns

Great so if I ever find one I'll be tracking down NOS shotguns or used ones in good condition.(It just ain't carnevil without the shotguns)

To the OP: that's the nest looking one I've seen in forever. I think you said it was HUO so that's an even better find ^^

Nice score...CarnEvil is very underrated, IMHO. Back in '99, I bought an unopened, NIB Carnevil from n operator. Still have it and even though shooters can 'get old' fairly quickly, this one is a keeper. Beautiful cabinet art, great game graphics for the era. BTW, do you know about the Easter egg to put the zombies into goofy hats & afros?

i think most of them were sold to Tilt! :)

really, i like CarnEvil. sold my first cab that i bought from Tilt! a number of years ago with out-of-focus monitor (flyback) for 1/3rd of what they were selling other ones for. tracked down used shotguns and played it for a while, then decided i needed the space and it wasn't a game suitable for my young son to be around. sold it for about what i paid for everything and thought CarnEvil was out of my life.

nope. a month later back at a Tilt! there's another one for sale so cheap i couldn't pass it up. this time instead using it at home i found a location for it (which eventually lead to me placing five other games there,) and it now makes me some cash while i await my larger arcade space and my son to grow up enough that i feel comfortable having it at home.

oh, and as for production run, i think they made quite a lot of 'em for the time though of course there were many fewer arcades and other locations so the numbers weren't anything like many of the classics.
