So I know that Pac, Ms Pac and Galaga cabinets are all very similar, but how does the casual observer tell them apart assuming they've been converted and lack traces of the original? Is it the shape/contour of the cab? Anything else? Or are they actualy the same and I'm imagining there's a difference? Just curious...

Apologies in advance if I'm unwittingly resurrecting a dead thread.

Pac and Galaxian are the same cab. Ms. Pac and Galaga are the same with the exception of what was pointed out above.

The easiest way to tell them apart is by the curve of the top part. Look at pics of each and you can see the differences.

I believe Galaga has a slight slant at the kickpanel and the above mentioned coin door.

You probably think this because you looked at the jakobud.com cabinet drawings. They are not accurate.

So apparently a Bosconian cab is the same as a Ms. Pac/Galaga cab. i.e. monitor mount angle is a little more horizontal, 4 carriage bolt heads below the coin door and MDF cab.

The reason I say that is I looked at a Baseball the Season II FS on CL tonite that was obviously in a Midway cab, but I couldn't tell from the pics which one. It had Bosconian tags inside (in addition to the bezel which I couldn't identify in the pic). Had it been a plywood Pac cab, I would've snagged it. As it is, quite good shape for an MDF cab - would make a good resto - guy is only asking $100.

mspac and galaga game sides are identical on the outside.. dead giveaway, is 4 carriage bolts under the coin door on a mspac.
