No, the remotes run on RF (think 70's TV remote controls).
The game is technically no more advanced than any of those cheap Tiger LCD games that were popular in the late 80's, or any McD happy-meal LCD toy; with the additional mechanics of a EM pinball score wheel.
However, you don't notice all of that since it's covered by a really nice semi-translucent plexiglass with really good artwork lit up by all the pinball lamps underneath.
But functionally, all they are very basic... Though I'd still like to have one
This game and Golf Champ are both setup to work off of a RF remote box or have a wired button attached. You rarely see the wired hand held button-stick for these but I do have a pair somewhere. I do not have the RF remote for my Golf Champ either as you rarely see those with the machines anymore. They get lost or misplaced over the years or even stolen from the original locations. For my golf champ I use an RF remote from a SAT Dish tracking unit. I have also seen certain types of garage door opener remotes used for these. Wiring up a button is the fastest simplest solution to get this back in play but I would also help the buyer find a compatible RF remote substitute. I could use an extra one myself and just haven't looked around yet.
