Evening All, 1st post so forgive me if I get some things wrong here. Was wondering if anyone had any experience with cleaning a Hologram Drum type part? Recently was able to acquire a MIDWAY TOP GUN rifle arcade in pretty decent shape. It has the Hologram Drum intact, and I can make the motor rotate BUT can't tell if the "Home" position of the Drum looks the way it does because of wear or age or dirt. (looks almost like its got a huge scratched out "windowed" area where it comes to rest or home) Its just that there are several posts inside the cabinet about NOT TOUCHING the Hologram!! And not cleaning it with ordinary cleaners!! The Parts Catalog states to clean it with ISOPROPHL ALCOHOL. Side note: I got super lucky and was already able to contact another member on here that fabricated Trigger Housings. (Original was roached) In turn, he was a huge help and also put me in contact to another member with a vast library/collection of schematic & Pubs.
So, long story lonnnggger, I am slowly but surely getting it together. But being cautious AND not wanting to ruin an obvious "1 of a handful left" parts, I am very hesitant to even try to clean this without first checking to be sure I know what I'm doing is correct. Thanks for any assistance.
