I've got a Motordome that occasionally has static in the sound. It will work fine for a while then get quiet and get all staticky (sp?) I reseated all of the roms, wiggled all the connectors, wiped both volume controls, changed all the caps except the 4700 uf.(I have some on order). Nothing I do generates the static or makes it go away. Any ideas?

I had a static issue on a squawk and talk which drove me crazy as i had replaced all the caps.It ended up being noise coming from the power supply, bad filter cap.If your ordering caps it wouldn't hurt to do the power supply as well.If i am wrong at least your power supply will be happy lol.

Turns out it was the pot on the cheap squeak board that was bad. Turning the volume up and down with it didn't generate any more or less static. I just decided to change it since I had already changed all the caps. Wish I had tried that first. Anyway, thought I'd post the resolution in case someone else has the same issue.
