INTRODUCTION
I was looking for a curved marquee Data East cabinet for a long time, planning to make a Midnight Resistance build. One turned up as a Bad Dudes curved marquee cabinet in a CL listing around Feb 2020 (pre-COVID). It came up on a Saturday morning, I got my buddy to help and we were on the road in 1 hour. This was in a barn, upstairs, but I would not call it a barn find per se. It was fairly clean, worked but had some interference on the screen. It took 3 people to move it down the very narrow steps in the barn and got it back home without a problem.
PARTS LIST
The parts for this machine were fairly easy to source (except for the Wico rotary joysticks).
I purchased Formica Graphite matte laminate, vertical grade (3 of 4"x8") (see how close this laminate was to the original in a later post).
Formica sheet laminate, 837 Graphite, displays a solid dark grey that will add a subtle sophistication to any space.Formica laminate sheets provide a heat and scratch resistant surface ideal for kitchens, bathrooms, dining spaces, and more. The only limit to design is your creativity when it...

I had two LS30s that could work with this cabinet but a KLOV deal came up for the Data East round top joysticks that are correct for this game.
Leaf buttons from arcadeshop.com
I made my own rotary joystick harnesses at the desired length, using 22AWG wire and the following parts from arcadepartsandrepair.com
For the PCB header
13 Pin .098 JST Connector Housing
JST .098 Pins Female 22-28 AWG
For the Wico joystick header
MOLEX 0.1 13 pin connector
Pins for MOLEX 0.1"
A Bad Dudes CP was bought on eBay in very bad shape but perfect for using with the cab as Midnight Resistance.
Sideart and control panel overlay came from Rich@ThisOldGame prior to Covid. I am not sure if he still has it available. The bezel came from EscapePod and the curved marquee came from Olly @arcadeartshop.com
Paint for metal parts was VHT black satin automotive epoxy paint (coin door, marquee covers, screws) as this would ensure a durable coating.

Other black painting was done with Rustoleum Black Satin spray (cabinet edges, back).
Swab sticks for painting the speaker grille holes (also used for cleaning PCBs) came from Amazon
Coin door white 12V LEDs where from Amazon
T-molding was from Outerwater and it was 13/16"
