I don't know of a way to make it a "temporary" controller for JAMMA boards, but you can convert it to work for JAMMA boards.
You will have to take the controller apart and run wires from each of the button contacts, use a 9 or 15 wire shielded (it doesn't have to be shielded, but where can you find one that isn't?) cable. You will use one wire for a common ground, you should be able to look at the PCB inside the controller and see one trace that connects to a side of all the buttons, and then one wire for each of the directions and buttons.
It would require an adapter that is probably more expensive than it's worth to do it without taking the controller apart.
I have rewired a couple of spare Sega Saturn controllers for my Supergun/JAMMA test rig. I replaced the Saturn cable with half of a VGA cable and wired up all six buttons, the four directions, the start button and the coin switch to the left shoulder button. That is 13 wires, counting the ground. It ends in a HD15 pin connector and I have the JAMMA harness wired to two female HD15 pin plugs, one for P1 and one for P2.
