Anyone in Michigan do monitor repair? I've got a 25" WG K7000 that's really slow to warm up. Although once it's warmed up it looks great. Don't know if I've got a board issue or a tube problem. Any advice would be appreciated.

No I have not had it capped yet. I was thinking that might be the place to start. Shot gun the board with a Cap kit / flyback and see what happens. Descrentl do you do cap kits? I really want to learn but I'm slightly concerned about screwing it up worse than it is. My current solder gun really sucks and I feel I need a better set up before attempting it. I'm looking for a good solder / desolder station now so I can make short work of a cap kit. Using a cheapo Wal-mart gun and a desoldering braid does not appear to be my strong suit. As for the Rampage I'm not quite ready to part with it. It's in really nice shape too. You're welcome to come play it anytime.

If you want to send the chassis to me, I do K7000 repair for $50 + parts+shipping. A flyback isn't always necessary, although I can put a new one in if you want.

If it's the tube, there's nothing I can do about it from here...

Yeh, theres a decent amount of us around these parts that can do a cap kit. If you could get a kit fast enough, you should come to Drewsters get together in Westland and I could teach you there. Only problem is, its Saturday.

Sounds like a plan how could I possibly turn that down. Where's the get together and what time on Saturday does it start?
