So its no surprise that I am not a huge fan of LEDs, I think I have made that clear :) So surprisingly enough I am finding myself liking LEDs a bit more after playing with the lights in my Spiderman. To start off with here is what LEDs I had installed in Spiderman:

1. Rollover lanes have blue LEDs
2. The top left flasher is a 9-LED flasher from Pinball Life
3. The Battle Royale and Battle Royale Jackpot inserts are using purple LEDs
4. The lights on the backboard were running warm white frosted LEDs.

I have a bunch of miscellaneous LEDs lying around from past experimentation so last night I decided to play around with them a bit. I saw another individual install colored incandescent bulbs in the back board on their SM so here is what I ended up with:

Exhibit A: Warm White LEDs on the backboard

I have to say I really like the new look. Of course it looks a bit different in person but overall I think it looks super cool. I can mess around with the LEDs a bit, on the left and right sides I have some of Pinball Life's 3-LED bulbs that are super bright. I could put some of his 1-LED frosted bulbs in place of those to dim it down.

Lights from left to right are:

PBL Blue 3-LED
PBL Blue Frosted 1-LED
PBL Blue 3-LED
Cointaker Orange Frosted LED x4
PBL Red 3-LED
PBL Red Frosted 1-LED
PBL Red 3-LED

I agree that your changes look really good. I can understand the love/hate with LEDs. It really depends on the machine, its artwork, the bulb layout, the translite and its art, ghosting, etc. And it also depends on how you use them. Overdoing a color can be bad, especially if there is a lot of that color in the machine's art to begin with.

I'll definitely use them in bumpers and hard to reach areas. And I see no reason to not use them in flashers. Especially ones that are difficult to replace on some DE and Sega games.

Looks nice!

LED's rock, no matter what people say. Not everywhere on a game but adding some to a game has its advantages. I've got LED's in my machines, my house, and my cars.
