Any recomendations? I'm thinking about getting one. Just want it to do a good job of keeping the mess down.

Any good orbital sander can have its dust port connected directly to your Shop Vac. The secret to little or no dust is to have the seal on the connection tight (cut a pool noodle to use as the connector between the sander and the vac hose) and get the right collection bag in your shop vac.

+1 to attaching shop vac as robotron911 said. there will still be some mess but no where near as much.

Thanks. Another question, do you leave the shop vac running while you do it or do you just let it collect in the pipe then turn it on every now and then?

Hooking to the shop vac definitely cuts down on dust, even compared to using the supplied bag. My big pet peeve is the hose on my vac isn't long enough to be useful.

It won't just collect in the hose, you need to keep it running. And the collection bag is a waste...I've never used mine. It's gets pretty dang loud with both running, so earplugs wouldn't be a bad idea.
