Mesquite Auction Feb 26 - Still on?

It was nice meeting you all.. after that disaster trying to pay out I'm not eager to head to another one of their auctions in the near future. I think we could have done it with a pen, paper, and a calculator faster then they did.

Ha I spent more time at the checkout than the auction. Not really but I know I stood in line for an hour. When I got in line there was only four people ahead of me.

The checkout was the pits. I talked with Shawn when he was away from the table so the others couldn't hear him.
a) Somebody at the hotel booked the car show about 2 weeks ago and was going to put them in the ballroom until somebody noticed that there was no way to get cars into the ballroom. He was pretty sure somebody go fired at the hotel.
b) The issue was that they didn't know what they were doing with the software. The woman that knows the sofware got sick and couldn't make it. When they checked the first people (including Alex) they double & triple entered things causing the next people to have 2 or 3 (or 4) of the same items on their bill. So they dumped the database and started from scratch.
c) About 1/3 of the stuff for the auction didn't make the floor (this is what he was really pissed off about)

I got checked out by midnight (the auction ended at 6pm), helped get Noel loaded by 12:45, on the road by 1am and home by 4am. A very long day indeed.

I only bought a Cyclone pin, a Moon Patrol converted to sone strange game and an upright MegaTouch. I'll take pics when Noel delivers the machines.

MegaThanks to KatanaJoe and his son for riding along. It made the drive go much quicker to be able to chat with somebody, especially on the drive home.

Nice metting those I had not met before and those I had not seen in a while. Had fun sitting in like joking. Wish it would have been a bit quicker as my wife wasn't to happy. I'll try and take pics of my cab I cut up. It's going outside and it is suppose to rain tonight but I could care less about the cabinet.

That's crazy you guys got out of there so late.
Alex I had your wrench and screwdriver in my truck, but I lost you after you got out of line.
Let me know if you want me to send them to you.

KatanaJoe you crack me up! Really good meeting you!

Anyone end up getting those Initial D 3s?

So who were you and your girlfriend? I'm still trying to figure out who you are at the auctions. ;)

Great bunch of guys!!!!

It was great meeting all of you this community is full of really great people I wanted to show my son what it fells to belong to a group where you don't have to know a secret knock for them to make you feel like you belong. The best part was even when we were miserable waiting in line us hanging out swapping stories made things more tolerable, hope to see ya again real soon!!!!! Joe.

she was in pink, 2nd in line, looked hella pissed (asian).. most think shes hispanic

i was in rangers/hamilton shirt. bought two games while in line trying to get a bidder # at the end of day (showed up very late) they wrote down my name "david"

and bought killer insticnt and blitz 2000 gold

I was sitting next to Noice giving him a hard time while we all waited to pay. I had the light blue t-shirt and the NASA jacket.

Nice!

That killer instinct was a good buy at $250! I would have bid on it if I didn't already have one.
I was really surprised it didn't go higher.

I was wearing a black t-shirt with green mushrooms on it that said nachtmystium.
For those of you that I introduced myself as mark too.

I was in the black t-shirt with skull & crossbones and the motto "The beatings will continue until moral improves!". Boy was that a prophetic t-shirt. The beatings continued for hours until we managed to check out.

The prices tended to favor the sellers more than the buyers, with a few exceptions. I blame the layout for that. In most of the SA auctions the money was gone by the time that the second row and the pins were gone. This also made the checkout worse as well because when the money goes early, they checkout and are gone so there is less of a rush at the end.

The way it was laid out encouraged buyers to stay all day.

Sure was a good buy. Now I have two. I listed one on craigslist last night but it got flagged shortly after.
