Mesquite Auction Feb 26 - Still on?

anyone get pics?

I didn't take any... All I have to say is they better not interleave the merchandise like that next time... Yup that is right... Nice arcade, multi, redemption, pin, broken arcade, broken pin.... You would have to sit there all day....

Oh, and there was not enough power since they had it in a ballroom instead of the normal spot. I was glad to see that so many games showed up, so at least the auctions will continue.

Dig Dug went for $400
Centipede went for $625, I think.

centipede went for $675. Donkey Kong Jr. was $400

Also it was really nice meeting everyone today. I was so wore out after standing at the "checkout" table that when I loaded my game I just left and headed home. I meant to say goodbye to everyone. Anyways it was nice meeting ya'll and i'm sure i'll see everyone again.

I had a good time.

Sucked the venue accidentally double booked the normal
Room. So our "new" spot was inconvenient.

Sucked the compuer crashed , and had to wait 3 hours for them to reenter the data

As for the chaotic organization, don't bother me. Since I'm not there solely for pins, or redemption

Did they say they were double booked? The auctioneer said they did it for pictures which made sense because it was their first auction ever. Either way, we needed more power, or I need to take a longer cord.

I'm not dropping names... But a staff member said it was booked all week for a car show. Both companies had paid money to promote their events so neither company would re-schedule.

I heard the same thing. Also heard that 4 people lost their jobs at the hotel because of that.

The car show was for 2012 models and they said they had guards to prevent people from coming in. It was a pretty good auction but long. I sold one item them DK Moppet 60-1 for 400 but bought 4 items totaling 333 and change. I though I was going to have to pay for the stuff I bought (Which I would have had to do on the CC ;-( ) and then them cut me a check for 350 in the mail. But he just gave me 16 and change which is what I was owed. He did give out free beer/soda and Papa John's Pizza in the end. Stuff went for a lot higher than when SA did it. I heard one guy say the only reason he was there was SA wasn't doing it any more.

Oh and some guy threathen to kick my A$$ for sticking my hand in one of his redemption games. All I wanted was a few tickets.

I ended up with 4 items. 60 pounds of tokens which I should already have pre-sold after I count them and sent off a email. A bunch of bank bags. I may have over paid for theses but I got a bunch of them. I counted 50 already and still have a huge stack left to count. Did find one ticket in there for my collection. Some fair and for 1000 points. Also got a Pop A Slot which I got just for the 13" monitor for 10 bucks. Once I pull off a couple other parts I am going to cut it up. If I had the room I would have bought the other one for 10 bucks. Then I picked up a grail a "Lax Rotary". First game listed. http://www.noelindustries.com/games.html

I didn't get out of there until close to 1am...

But, I did get one of my favorite games - too bad it's too big to fit in the game room.

w00t!

Only paid $300 for it. I wasn't expecting to win it, but got it! Then I had to figure out how the hell to get it to the truck since I didn't even bring a dolly. Ed, Randolph, and a couple of others helped. I pulled a dumbass not bringing anything but I wasn't really expecting to buy anything.

The credit card terminal went down and it took them 1 1/2 hours to fix it. They placated the crowd with free pizza, beer, sodas, and by raffling off some $10 discount cards.

They should've just entered everything in an Excel spreadsheet and just used that for checkout. It would've been faster, but... live & learn. They should do much better next time.

The ballroom was a hotel f-up thing. It made it tough to arrange the games in any kind of order since you couldn't slide the games around. It was also NOT what they wanted, but they made good use of it by taking lots of pics for their auction website since the carpeted ballroom looked much better than the bare side of the building. ;)

I did hear a few people say that they couldn't fit everything in the room, so there will be another auction in May.

Games went much higher than previous auctions, might have been the set up.
Or maybe it was the carpet and chandeliers.

hey it was nice to meet everyone! thanks for letting me (me and katana joe) cut in line so i could get my Family home.hope to be able to go to the next one and hang out more... next time ill be by myself so i can help everyone else out at the end.....

What a beating.Ive never been at a meeting of arcade addicts, until now 4 hrs to pay for two games. Better than a crack house got my fix.Ed

The joust that sold at the auction is now on craigslist fror $975.
So is one of the multicade cocktails $2499.

Based on those prices I may need to hire extra security for my storage unit! ;)

What a day it was.
Glad the family couldn't make it this time, they would have hated being there for so long.
I ended up getting home almost midnight (4 1/2 hr drive from Dallas to Houston) but it was a fun day.
Prices were all over the place, some games that should have gone cheap went for a lot and vice versa.
Ended up with 6 total, bought a Capcom bowling ($35), Arkanoid ($60), Fighting golf ($30), Metal Slug 4 ($125), Main Event ($20) in a poor Gauntlet cabinet (sad), and this game called Copy Cat ($20) that looks like some sort of memory game that dispenses bounce balls while I was standing in line waiting to pay, not sure why I bought but it looks kind of fun. All the games are working and have great looking monitors.
Here are some pictures:

There were some issues with checking out and stuff but overall I think they did a great job for their first auction and I'm looking forward to the next one.
It was great to see everyone and hang out.

Thanks for the pictures. I saw some pinball titles that were interesting.
Twilight Zone
Creature From the Black Lagoon
STTNG
and several other good ones

There was one seller on crack. Someone brought 31 pachislo machines that were in shitty shape: no transformers... some had crooked reels... one had a circuit board hanging down inside... and lots of cracked plastic & cracked body hinge mount areas...

$50 each.

ROFL!

I would've given 'em $10 each for them just to part out and sell the individual pieces.

It was nice meeting you all.. after that disaster trying to pay out I'm not eager to head to another one of their auctions in the near future. I think we could have done it with a pen, paper, and a calculator faster then they did.
