Attract sequence / game rotation when not being played

This first release contains the standard game options of...
Dragon's Lair - factory F2

*Please Note* This version does not yet contain Dragon's Lair II Enhancement
A version containing DL2E is expected to be available sometime in January (or so).

Does Dexter have the potential to include other laser games like Thayer's Quest, Badlands, Cliffhanger etc. in future?

I understand your question, but I think it may lead to a bit of confusion.

Dexter is a laserdisc player using digital "images" of the discs. It works great in the original cabinets of the games you mentioned above.
Merlin is a multi-game ROM board for the Dragon's Lair cabinet. It also allows you to upgrade your laserdisc player.

We are two separate groups of people. We really have no tie except that our products work well together, and we've worked to create something really cool.

Back to your question,
Yes, Merlin-Dx does have the potential to include more games, like TQ, Cliffhanger, Super Don, and more.
Once DL2 is done, we will probably get bored and start a new project. :)

Shaun, so if I get a Merlin 8000 I can upgrade to the DX if I ever add a Dexter ? I am currently running one of your older multi-rom boards with a hi-tech card and a Sony LDP-2000. I do have all three laserdiscs and a Pioneer LD-V8000 So I might just get the Merlin 8000 so I can play DL2.

mtp66... I can upgrade your multi-ROM board to Merlin-8000 with DL2E now.
It's only the Dx version that has to wait a few more weeks.
PM me if you want to do that.
You can also upgrade that board to Merlin-Dx if you acquire a Dexter.

VectorCollector... You're in good company. Almost everyone on my waiting list has opted to wait for DL2E. That's definitely the best choice, but I can't help being a bit disappointed that more people aren't getting to try Merlin-Dx yet.

To everyone on the Dx waiting list... I'll resend ready notices as soon as DL2E is ready.

Shaun,

I've said this before but I think you all (like many people selling items like this) could benefit from a clear and very simple description of what your products do. I know it's easier said than done but it's just so common to see people utterly confused. There is a tendency to get so conversant with the subject matter that you forget some people have only a very basic concept of how the games work and what the components do.

On the other hand, since Dexter is sold out then maybe you don't need the extra buyers!

Merlin-Dx kicks ass. Got my Dragon's Lair running on Sunday with my new Merlin-Dx and my first-run Dexter serving up Dragon's Lair, Dragon's Lair II: Time Warp, and Space Ace. Ran into some minor issues getting the firmware and disc images updated on Dexter to support Dragon's Lair II Enhancement and Merlin-Dx compatibility but Shaun stepped me through troubleshooting via email, despite Dexter not being his product, and I had it all 99% working correctly within a few hours. And the last issue/quirk was figured out and fixed the next day, again with Shaun's help. Merlin-Dx works flawlessly with Dexter and I can only imagine Merlin-1000 and Merlin-8000 do as well with your preferred compatible laserdisc player, if it's working. Buy this.
