Anyone else feel like the separate "dealer" forum is a waste ? I never think to look in there until today and it seems no different than the other FS forum. A separate forum for Pinball is one thing, but 2 different ones for video games seems like a waste.

Wondering what the majority of people here think.

Every day I come on here and hit "New Posts"...so forum headings typically mean little to me. I agree that the dealer sub forum seems to add little to any value, but I suppose it does to some.

I say keep it. It's meant for (at least my impression) selling new items, typically in runs, so it's more that a single part someone is selling that ends up 5 pages deep in 2 days. Artwork runs, metal part runs, etc. I check it daily.

I say keep it the way it is as well. If you have a service like repairing monitors etc, that's where it supposed to be. Not under the for sale section where people are looking for parts.

Just an opinion from one member of this forum.

When the membership grows on a forum, the need to create separate sub forums is necessary to help create a forum easier for user to find what interests them and others that are interested in the same subject matter.

As memberships grow more subforums are created. This is not an issue because the amount of users and the amount of people posting make sense to do so.

As membership shrinks. You end up with forums that are rarely posted to. Closing sub forums is an option to be considered. Considering why the subfroum is loosing members is another.

If anything I wish the for sale forum was split into one for parts and one for machines. I think that would be a better split than video / pinball is.

I like the dealer forum. I think, as DP said, small production run sales items belong there as well, so they don't get lost in the daily scroll of individual items. Stuff like batch runs of PCB projects, artwork repros, etc. Makes the stuff easier to find.
