Hi all, have just done cap kit, HOT and flyback on my WG K7000.
Original problem was very weak red.
I now have some red (still weak) but it looks like it is melting down the screen. also on startup the screen now flickers. This goes away after a couple of minutes.
New to this so any help appreciated.
Thanks....

Your weak red may be a bad CRT ( tube ). The "red melt" may be caused by your contrast is set to high, red color set too high or red bias set too high. The flickering screen I'm guessing is your vertical hold pot out of adjustment.

Screen flickering and going away usually just means that one of your pots in right on the hairy edge of whatever adjustment it's for. As the game warms up the voltages change a little bit and the pot is set for that "warmed up" value.

As for the weak/bleeding red. Find someone local with CRT Tester/Rejuvenator. Have them run a clean and balance on it. Most of the time, if you have a TV repair shop in town, they'll have the rejuvenator and you can get them to rejuvenate the tube for little or nothing (less than $10).

OK as she warms up things get better have it running the last couple of hours.
turned the red down enough to get rid of the bleeding although it is not far from all the way up, green and blue are nearly all the way down.
So i now have a kinda brown where red should be
The flickering i may have descibed badly. it is more like pulsing. it looks as though the screen is dimming and then back to full brightness. didnt happen pre cap kit.
