The dollar goes in and stops and if you press return it will come back out, How can I fix this mech? Its different from normal mechs so I'm not really sure.

Its not "Getting stuck" so to speak. Just getting held there if I press coin return it comes out. I'm using 1$ like it says on the machine, If I use a US 1$ coin it doesnt work either. Quarters go right to the coin return.

And you're sure there isn't something else stuck in the coin mech? Coin mechs are pretty straight forward, it sounds like your dollar coin is too big. It doesn't matter what the machine says, it matters what the coin mech is.

I'll take it apart in a little bit, But I don't believe it was ever changed from 1.00 mechs

Correct coin mech installed? Is it installed in the mounting bracket correctly?

Is the mech jammed with something like a toothpick or a piece of paper? Is the mech clean?

I'll be taking it apart to check out shortly. I'll let you know.

Its not dirty and I added some DW40 to it and it will accept the dollar *Sometimes*, most times it goes to return or it gets stuck halfway through and I have to push it with my finger.

I know with the quarter coin mechs sometimes some of them need to be tweaked a little. I'm not sure if I'm doing it right, but it works for me. There's a little screw at the top that is attached to the piece that swings out and has the magnet on it. I have to tighten that screw down, just a little, or the quarters will get stuck. Might be worth giving it a shot to see if it'll help you with your $1 mech?... if they're built the same way.

do strippers in canada take looneys in their cracks?

They carry a change Thong....Its got pockets in the front/back....
jk jk
I like bills better.
I may just find a way to convert this to quarters and change the settings to either 1 quater = 1 credit or 4 quarters = 1 credit. I will get a pic up in a bit.

Fine, don't believe me. Or Ken Layton, who I'm sure will say the same thing shortly. :)

Its also not a plastic coin mech. And I don't leave them dripping with it :p, I wipe them down after spraying it.

This is where it gets stuck/sometimes passes through fine

Never never never never never never use WD40 on coin mechs! It is a solvent not a real lubricant and it attracts dust & dirt. In all the movie theaters I've worked at over the years, if you used WD40 on a movie projector you would be fired immediately. It will destroy an expensive movie projector. WD40 is only really good for squeeky door hinges

Here is the coin mech you have:

Here is a similar model from a competitor and the adjustments are similar to yours:

Since yours is a metal acceptor, you can clean it with laquer thinner on a Qtip cotton swab. Cleaning the "rail" the coins roll on is very important. The "gate" could possibly be warped if adjusting does not fix it. You can buy the parts from Asahi Seiko USA in Las Vegas. Don't think they have a Canada office.
