Hi all, I recently picked up a Megatouch IV machine in the upright cab. Don't know much about these... Pretty nice condition, but games are not so great...

Anyone have any advice or parts to help upgrade this machine???

Thanks!

The highest you can go is a Megatouch 7 encore with chip swaps. The games will be mostly the same, with a few new ones added but probably not the dramatic change you are looking for. After that, all the hardware inside changes drastically and you are looking at a whole new machine.

Your budget minded Megatouch will be the Maxx series. Information is stored on hard drives for better games like photo hunt. The games are cool enough to interest todays players, but old enough (5+ years) to be a little discounted in price.

Gotcha -

A newer machine would be pretty neat, but not in the budget just yet...

Anyone have help with the roms to upgrade to the 7??

Thanks for the tips!

The Maxx version I have is 2K. Its one of the older ones but still has a lot of good games on it. (I suck at photohunt, BTW. I don't have the patience.) If you have patience, you could probably get one for $300 or less. I have heard that the XL series is upgradeable to Maxx hardware with a board swap but apparently, not the older ones. You could maybe still do it if you had the boards and didn't mind a ton of rewiring, provided the touch screen controllers are compatible. Though by the time you are done, you might have enough money in it to just buy a Maxx. How much did you pay for the version you have?
